Research On Traditional Chinese Characters Decorate

Traditional Chinese characters (including Chinese characters and a number of minority languages) comparing with the alphabetic writing is different from the phonetic meaning and also the special space configuration with kind of special decorative beauty. The decorative and design sense of traditional Chinese characters as a very important component of the Chinese traditional decorative patterns should be took care by each Chinese traditional art pursuer including modern character designers. In the present situation, this subject in the academic community has not been paid enough attention. The existing research results are lack of systematic and comprehensive collation and summary about the decorative and design sense of traditional Chinese characters. Most books about the traditional characters or fonts design have one of the most common problem which is lack of theory study, but too many illustrations, so lack the deeper study on traditional character design rules and the inspiration of modern design.Based on previous studies this thesis gave a systematical grooming and summarizing on the Chinese character decorative significance. Firstly, the traditional Chinese characters especially the significant decorative characters were made a brief historical recall. Then through research and contrast on substantial graphic materials, and traditional decorative character were classified into character basic modus, pattern character modus and Calligraphy and painting against modus, and this classification system is more scientific than before. Next traditional character decorative types were analyzed and explored. Finally, the traditional character decorative study was rise to a deeper level of aesthetic reflection, and the psychological reason about people eager to traditional Chinese characters decoration was researchedIn this thesis, deeply excavated the essence of traditional culture, at the same time, played role filler in the character decorative field. Hopefully, the research results could inspire the modern research passion on traditional character; and offer a high reference value and practical application model for modern character design.
