The Culture Of Nan Yang Basin And Producing Of Zhou Daxin's Novels

This paper is based on perusal of a large number of texts, coupled with the perspective of terrain and culture, aiming at probing into the regional novels of the contemporary well-known writer, Zhou Daxin as a whole and tracing the basis of the value of his works, theoretical base, unique geographical characteristics, cultural deposit and aesthetic significance, with a view of providing valuable reference and revelation for contemporary Chinese literature and literary studies. The paper employs dialectical thinking as well as combines the innovative reality of contemporary literary situation to delve into its creation and deficiency, putting up with several possible approaches of transcending.Firstly, the thesis analyses the preferential geographical position of Nanyang basin, abundant natural resources ,cultural heritage and centuries-old human resources, and combines with Zhou Daxin's joyous childhood memories, deducing that Nanyang basin is not only the source of his novels, but also the habitat of his soul. In the second part of the thesis, by analyzing Zhou Daxin's works , ancient yet pure custom, plain yet delicate public feelings of Nanyang is unfolded , and great contrast is revealed between the fairness, kindness and adamancy of fair sex and frailty, selfishness and disloyalty of the sterner sex, presenting an unbalanced bisexual world. With the imbalance between men and women, the efforts that the local residents of Nanyang Basin spare to pursue goodliness of humanity and escape from the predicament of survival and the theme of keeping watching and escaping deepens the complexity and richness of Zhou Daxin's novels. In the third part of the thesis, the writing features of regional fictions written by Zhou Daxin is analysed detailedly, which incorporates as the interposition of epic, the switch of narrative mode, the use of symbolism and the blend of mythology, fantasy and folk songs, which enhance the expressiveness and artistic effect of the work. The last part points out that the limitations and shortcomings of Zhou Daxin's regional creation, and proposes several approaches of overcoming limitations and transcending deficiency. Each transcending begets affliction and each transcending breeds sublimation.
