The Building Of Individual Moral Character

Morality is an eternal topic. As long as humans exist, morality can not vanish, it is an important part of people's spiritual life. Because of this, every times of thinkers have attached great importance to the moral system and standard."Program for Improving Civic Morality"promulgated in China in 2001have outlined the system of socialist morality, it's core is serving the people, persists the principle of collectivism, basic requirements is love for their motherland, for the people and for labour, science socialism, this system include social morality, professional ethics and family virtues. But with the changes and developments, many scholars believe that the moral system of the socialist should include individual personal character. To comply with this change and the tendency, The 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China believe that we should strengthen social morality, professional ethics and family virtues and individual morality. Individual personal character proposed by the meeting has consummated our country citizen moral reconstruction system, has increased the new content for the socialist morality theory system, must improve the moral standards of society.This article based on the times and the social development realistic, using the Marxist,stand,viewpoint and method, fused the multi-disciplinary theory achievement, has emphatically carried on more comprehensive and the system theory exploration to individual character construction related question, want to understand and explore individual personal character construction and it's related question. The purpose is better understanding the individual personal character, provideing idea,the thought method and the way for our country's individual personal character construction. First, by comparison with the character similar to the concept of individual personal character ,defining the meaning of the individual personal character, morality is an individual phenomenon, is the stable psychology which displays in the long-term ethics behavior, is one kind of moral character and the moral personality. And has simply enumerated some not good individual personal character phenomenon, indicated the necessity of carring out individual personal character construction .Second, analyzed the value of individual personal character construction, consider that its value should change from traditional relative perception, short shallow to relative rationality and long-term, idealism to realism, the losing value to the guidance of socialism core value system, the neglect human nature, the maintenance feudalism rule to arrive humanist, the construction socialism harmonious society, thus guarantees the correct direction of individual personal character construction. Third, in researching individual personal character, discussed thoroughly some important elements related individual personal character construction,believed that the non-rational factors ,specially the moral need, the moral emotion and the moral belief was very important to individual personal character construction, simultaneously emphasized the external condition of individual personal character construction, namely the importance of system ethic.
