On Changes In The Historical Status Of Yue Fei

Yuefei is a distinguished patriotic general in the Southern Song Dynasty. His deeds were known in China, Yuefei is also the banner of patriotism from generation to generation so far. In the eyes of the Chinese people, he is a monument of Loyalty to serve the country, Beetles in his strategy for his sterling integrities and his uprightness people are deeply revered by people. It's the conclusion that Yuefei is a Chinese national hero in the Chinese people's eyes. However, there has been a controversy that Yuefei defining as the national hero whether affect some people's emotions or not in academia, it also has defined Yuefei as the anti-gold star in high school history textbooks.Yuefei isn't known as national hero.In the hearts of the Chinese people, Yuefei has the double images of "historical figure" and "national hero" , the merits and demerits could prevail in the history file in the terms of fact;the mental model has turned into God in the terms of fact. In short, the ancient Authoritative and the public has shaped the image of Yuefei in the development of the long river of Chinese history.Using the times as the axis,this article studys on the formation and changes of the historical status of Yuefei since the Southern Song Dynasty .The content include: the formation and conformation of the historical status of Yuefei in the Southern Song Dynasty; the formation and continuous changes of the historical status of Yuefei after the Southern Song dynasty and the reasons causing these changes; the final conclusion on whether Yuefei is the national hero or not to clarify the significance of the study on Yuefei and properly deal with such famous historical figures as Yuefei. This is related to the issue of the patriotism of Chinese people's faith and the cohesion of the Chinese nation and the national spirit of community which is weakened or promoted.Through the article, we can see that in the formation and changes of the historical status of Yuefei ,political factor has always played a major role; the external theory has tremendous impact; and the admire of the Chinese people is the fundamental driving force. Although Yuefei's historical position has changed with the change of the times and will continue to develop and change, it can't change the strong public opinion and high status of Yuefei as Chinese hero.
