An Analysis Of Distortion And Deletion Of Information In Business Correspondence Translation In The View Of Translation Action Theory

With China's entrance into WTO as well as the rapid development of the economic globalization, it is obvious that business correspondence translation is becoming more and more crucial and irreplaceable. Currently, many scholars at home and abroad are carrying out researches on business correspondence translation. On the whole, relevant study mostly focuses on the following two aspects:one is the linguistic features of business correspondence and the other is the theoretical study of business correspondence translation. However, the theoretical research on the causes of distortion and deletion of information in business correspondence translation is not adequate now.Based on the theory of translation action, the thesis makes a qualitative research on the application of the theory of translation action to the analysis of distortion and deletion of information in business correspondence translation. The writer will firstly make an analysis of the main features of business correspondence as well as an overall introduction to the theory of translation action; then the writer will combine them with information deletion and distortion in business correspondence translation together and find out the main problems existing in this field; finally, focusing on such factors as the initiator, the commissioner, cultural differences, cultural equivalence, the informative, operative and expressive texts, the writer will apply each theoretical viewpoints of the theory of translation action to business correspondence translation to solve these problems and accordingly draw a conclusion.The thesis demonstrates that it is quite reasonable to apply the theory of translation action to the analysis of information distortion and deletion in business correspondence.
