The Artistic Construction Of War Scene In Films And TV Series

War, as a special kind of social history phenomenon, has become an important component of human history. It is endowed with those characteristics such as sharp conflict, complicated situation and severe test, war acquires inherent dramatic and provides a continuous flow of material to films and TV series. The creators of film and TV series through artistic processing, create real battlefield scenes, reproduce the illusion of war, reveal the true nature of war, movies, and thus bring viewers the strong audio-visual stimulation and the unique aesthetic experience. From real life to artistic truth in the creating process of films and TV series, the core is the war scene artistic construction.Scene is the basic unit of narrative in films and TV series. All of the narrative techniques and skills are used in scenes switching. The common narrative methods are making use of sense to performance space-time. The beginning, development, high tide and ending of stories all exists in one or more scenes. In the same, all of the narrative elements and skills are contained in one or more scenes.War scene is undoubtedly one of the most important scenes of films and TV series. It attracts the viewer's attention by the way of extreme conflict confrontation, intense action shooting, mixing culture theme narrative, complex audio-visual language skills, personality distinct characters, atmosphere and the rhythm with one climax following anther, strong visual impact, and so on.War scene is carefully established by the films and TV series creators. It is the key field play in a film and TV work, and it has the different characteristics with other types of scenes in narrative way, technical processing and dramatic element. Then what are war scenes construction elements and how do we make artistic construction? Those are not only the key of films and TV series making, but also the key point which this paper studies.This paper is proposed perspective of producing films and TV series, directed by narratology, communication, film linguistics and other related theories, surrounded closely by the unique artistic form and expressional technique of war scene, researches and analyzes the typical war scenes in film-and-television works, explores the war scenes artistic construction methods, and expects to make a little contribution for the creation of the films and TV series. This paper mainly includes three parts:Firstly, this paper analyzes the different artistic performance of war in films and TV series, and introduces the typical war scenes narrative characteristics and expression forms. The scene in films and TV series is not only the minimum unit of narrative, but the basic unit of creation. As the heavy plays and extreme conflicts measures, war scenes are blend of historical reality, life reality and artistic reality. Thus war scene can attract viewers'attention and bring viewers amazing and shocks, on the same time it contains praising hero, deliberating human nature, criticizing and reflecting on the war itself.Secondly, this paper discusses construction elements of war scene. Construction elements of war scene can be divided into two types: technology elements and artistic elements. Therefore, we can select the classic movies which have high audience rating and strong audience response as case, analyze the typical war scenes, and describe both the technology construction elements such as scene, prop, modeling, sound and the artistic construction elements such as event, role, scheduling, camera, transition.Thirdly, this paper also concludes the general rules of the artistic construction in war scene. From the angle of actual film and TV creation, Construction war scene not only need to create realistically the battlefield environment atmosphere, but also design carefully the art scenes in war, and organize reasonably the overall scheduling of scene. By the way we can easily achieve the purpose that really reappearing war and artistically express war in films and TV series.
