Western narratology has been studied for decades, but there were a lot of useful research into Chinese classical fiction and theories early in the Ming and Qing dynasties. With the difference between story time and narrative time, this thesis illustrates the anachrony in terms of flashforward, flashback and special narration sequence.Chapter One illustrates the flashforward. This chapter analyzes the types of flashforward and six special forms in the Ming and Qing fiction. It comes to that the flashforward in the Ming and Qing dynasties, which is different from the western one, is focus on the recessive. The former could flourish because of the following factors. It is closely linked with not only the influence of history biography and Vernacular Novels, but also the writers'culture horizon and world view. It plays the role of emphasizing the narration and controlling the narrative clues.Chapter Two explores the flashback in the Ming and Qing fiction. Flashback is divided into two kinds or five types. Through dialogues, special marked words describe the birth and experience of the characters. There are great differences between the Ming and Qing flashback and western traditional ones. The former helps readers understand the characters'relationship and know about the progressivity and the causality of the issues.Chapter Three mainly analyzes the special forms of the narrative order in the Ming and Qing fiction, including three aspects: supplementary narrative, inserted narrative and respective narrative. Supplementary narrative is a narrative skill for the integrality of the plot and artistic conception. Inserted narrative can supplement and explain the causality and dispel the dullness in the text. And respective narrative is completed by the deformation of story time and it is essential in the narrativeBased on the above analysis, we can clearly understand the form and character of narrative time in the Ming and Qing fiction. Meanwhile, we can also see the effect of processing narrative time. Compared with the western literature theory and fiction, there are the common points between them, but Ming and Qing fiction has its own Chinese characters.
