With the strong historical influences of Tang Dynasty, Paintings of Tang Dynasty has constructed the central core of traditional Chinese painting. The figure painting is the highest point in its development. From the form of painting, mural and scroll are performance. From its content, there are many themes. The figure painting with religious themes, and the painting of noble maiden in the banquet which is full of literary artistic conception. From the forms of representation, the traditional culture idea of modeling with lines has been enriched; the style of line drawing changes and increases gradually. It makes its contents and forms have a perfect combination with each other. And it also represents the style and features of Tang Dynasty-vigorous, generous, beautiful and sonorous. The figure painting plays an important role by its features of modeling. Painting is an art of modeling, and modeling supporting the art of the painting. The view of departing drawing from modeling is just an unrealistic notion. The painting of tang dynasty is performed with the concept of unity of heaven and man and the usage of imagery. It emphasizes the leading position of subjective emotion which is a process of reprocessing and recreating. No mattert Zhang zao's "laying stress on learning from nature beings and comprehending your in most feelings" or Gu Kaizhi's "the theory of vivid lifelike", they all emphasize one thing:the theory of combination and people vision, that is also the theoretical pillar of modeling traditional Chinese painting.This paper analyzes the characters of the modeling of Tang Dynasty from the following factors:(1) With the social and political cultural environment of tang dynasty, it illustrates the aesthetic fashion under the strong historical background and its influences to the modeling. The figure painting cannot be created by abandoning to the real life. The content of the figure painting is a reflection of the spirit in that time and a true portrayal of humanities environment. At the same time, it also affects the idea and technique of expression of modeling in figure painting. (2) The literature and art of Tang dynasty had been developed into the highest point. There are many famous liberator. Especially in drawing, there are many master painters. The concept and technique modeling of painting is closely connected with the literary ideas of the early, middle and late period of Tang Dynasty. The abstract depiction in literature is the same as the concrete expression of real life in paintings. Literature is a corresponding and interpretation for painting. Buddhism was brought in Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasties, distinguished family and the Northern and Southern Dynasties, it was upholded by the ruler in early Tang Dynasty. And it also brought the Buddha drawing. Buddha drawing in the Tang Dynasty was similar to the modeling style of western and India, then it had gradually become into the modeling style of middle-earth. As native one, Taoism catered to the rulers of Tang Dynasty, so that figures as one of drawing themes, figure painting played an important role. (3) Except the highest development of scroll paintings and mural, stone carving and sculpture art also reached the height point in the development. This proved the close relation between painting and other formative arts, it also can be helpful for further analysis of their modeling characteristics and basis. (4) According to the theory of "controversies on form and spirit", it analyzes the modeling characteristics of painting in Tang Dynasty from the verbal expression of the figure painting. |
