The Relationship Between Dietary Therapy And Recurrence Of Stones After Extracorporeal Shock-wave Lithotomy

Urinary stone is also called urinary stone disease(USD).USD is the commom and frequently encountered disease of urinary disease.No-operaiton treatment , extracorporeal shock-wave lithotomy(ESWL),endourology,open surgery,and so on, are used for USD. Curative effect of USD is elevated.ESWL is little wouded and patients recover soon.Its cost is cheap and no anaesthesia is needed.So its serviceable range is wide and it is one of the mainly treatment method for USD.But the recurrence rate of USD is very high.The recurrence rate of USD is 5.8%,14% and 30%~70% in half a year,a year and 10 years.So people pay close attention to how to prevent beforehand recurrence of USD.The improvement of treatment of USD did not decrease recurrence rate of USD.Lithogenesis is a very complicated procedure. Primary USD has close relationship with geography , heredity and nutrition. Especially nutrition and dietary pattern are the important reasons for primary USD.283 cases of USD were choosed from May 1st to August 1st in 2009.189 cases were male and 94 cases were female.The age was from 16 to 70 years-old.Reasonable dietary therapy and possible follow-up was made to discuss the relationship betweent dietary therapy and recurrence of stones after ESWL.201 cases could obey dietary therapy.156 cases thought that dietary therapy was simple,effective and easy to do.But 46 cases thought that dietary therapy was complex and had no result.51 cases could not obey dietary therapy.204 cases had no relapse of USD.48 cases had relapse.Our study showed that dietary therapy could not prevent the relapse of USD from the fundamental reason,but dietary therapy could obviously decrease the recurrence rate of USD.Dietary therapy had good compliance and its cost was very cheap.Dietary therapy was easy to done. Dietary therapy had better results with component analysis of USD.
