Objective To study the water condition after water-reform in Xinjiang Kuitun, and to study the effect to improve inhabitant's living condition of water reform. Methods Collect 8 deep phreatic water samples in arsenic exposure area in Kuitun, and 15 samples in non-arsenic exposure area nearby, nanlyze the arsenic content and other tungstens in water. Used the cohort study methed, on the basis of the list of Xinjiang Kuitun 129 corps chronic arsenic poisoning patients investigated in 1985, determine the arsenic exposure population according to the follow-up. Chose the non- arsenic exposure (water- arsenic≤0.05mg/L) inhabitants in 129 corps lived formore than 20 years as the inner-control group, and the nearby non- arsenic exposure inhabitants in 125 corps as the outer-control group, do the questionnaires. The investigate include the basic condition, uro- arsenic examine, pulmonary function test, type-B ultrasonic examine, skin examine, cardiovascular system examine, nervous system examine. Use Epidate to found data base, use SPSS17.0 to analyse. Results By statistics test, Arsenic content was excessive in arsenic exposure area, these elements content of water samples between arsenic exposure area and non-arsenic exposure area had significant difference: As,Mg,Ca,Zn,Cu,Pb,Cd(P<0.05). the content of As and Mg, Ca, Zn, Cd, Ag was negative correlated, and the content of As and Cu, Pb was positive correlated (P<0.05).Among the 310 datas we collected, arsenic poisoning group has 109, inner-control group has 102, outer-control group has 99, the youngest was 28 years old,the oldest was 94 years old, the average age was 53 years old. Urinary arsenic content of arsenic exposure group residents had significant difference with inner-control group and outer-control group (P<0.05); Split chi-square by adjusting the test criteria: arsenic exposure group had no significant difference with inner control group and outer control group in high blood pressure, ECG results abnormal, liver area abnormalities, kidney area abnormalities, skin hypopigmentation, neurasthenia, fine paresthesia (P>0.017); in the skin pigmentation, shallow paresthesia, deep paresthesia on the differences were statistically significant (P<0.017). Arsenic exposure group and inner control group had tatistically difference in the pulmonary function abnormalities and skin hyperkeratosis(P<0.017), had no tatistically differencewith outer control group.(P>0.017). Conclusion Arsenic content was excessive in well of Xinjiang Kuitun arsenic exposure area, the low content of Ca,Mg,Zn may arise the risk to get arsenic poisoning. From water reform in 1985, the health state of inhabitants improved, the harm of arsenic to skin, pulmonary function abnormalities and nervous system was durative and irreversible.
