The Applications Of HPV Genotyping In Screening Of Cervical Lesions

Objective:To evaluate the efficiency of the method using human papilloma virus (HPV) Gene chips to screening cervial malignant disease ,and to investigate the infection distribution of Human papilloma virus (HPV) in women of Quanzhou.Methods: To study Child-bearing age women in Quanzhou area.A total of 4774 women(16～76years)were checked for 21 subtypes of HPV by flow-through hybridization and gene chip technology, including 346 women having pathology examination.Results:(1) The sensibility in using high risk HPV examination to detect the cervial malignant disease is 84.62%, specificity 50.55%, positive predictive value: 57.49% ,negative predictive value 79.13%.; In 25 to 45 age group, it has better test performance.(2) The positive rate of HPV was 24.53%. and the overall prevalence of high-risk HPV infection is19.61%. There was significant difference in HPV positive rates among each age group(P<0.01),the≤20-year-old age group has the highest HPV infection rate(43.10%).Conclusion:(1)Using gene chip method to measure the HPV subtypes can detect the multiple HPV subtypes simultaneously, understand the multiple infections and increase forecast reliability.(2) The High-risk HPV genotype screening of uterine malignancies has high sensitivity and negative predictive value, so can be used as an effective screening tool in cervical malignancy disease, but its low specificity, the diagnosis can not be separate basis and must be combined with other detection methods to improve detection performance. (3) The HPV infection has significant regional and age differences.It requires a more individualized program in treatment, prevention programs and the development of vaccines .
