Objective To investigate the expressions of SEDL gene and its encoded protein sedlin in a variety of tissues in mice. Methods Real-Time PCR and Western Blot were used to detect the expression levels of the SEDL mRNA and sedlin protein in 9 tissues in mice and in MC3T3 cell, respectively. The expression levels of them in 6 tissues in mice of 1, 2 and 4-week-old were also measured in the same way.Results①Expressions of SEDL gene and its corresponding sedlin protein existed in 9 tissues detected in mice and in MC3T3 cell.②E xpression levels of SEDL gene and sedlin interacted with tissue and age(F=3.71,P<0.01;F=17.54,P<0.001): Expression levels of SEDL mRNA and sedlin protein were different in various tissues of the same age(F=8.27,P<0.001;F=6.81,P<0.01). And they were also different in same tissues of varied age(F=3.59,P<0.01;F=108.52,P<0.001).③The relative expression levels of SEDL mRNA and sedlin protein in 9 tissues in mice significantly different(P<0.0001), and with a high level in bone.④In bone tissues of age varied mice, the relative expression levels of SEDL gene and sedlin obviously different(P<0.01), and age-related changes in expressions were identical with each other.Conclusion①It was concluded that expression of SEDL gene and sedlin were consistent in tested tissues.②Expressions of them were also detected in MC3T3 cell.③Expressions of SEDL gene and sedlin interacted with tissue and age.④Both SEDL gene and sedlin expression levels were different among tissues and with a high level in bone.⑤In bone tissues of mice, the expressions of SEDL gene and sedlin had the same changes with time.
