Objective: To investigate the effect and complication of the chest and abdomen solid tumors treated by stereotactic radiotherapy(SRT).Methods: 57 patients with 83 lesions located at the chest and abdom-en were treated by 60Co multi-field conformal radiation therapy system(γ-knife).The isodose curve of 50%covered the planning target volume. The isodose curve of 95%covered 100%the gross tumor volume. We used the radiation dose to 50% isodose line as the prescription dose. The single dose was 2.0 Gy~5.0Gy,one fraction per day, five fraction a week. The total dose was 27.0 Gy~50.0Gy in 8.0 fraction~20 .0 fraction.Result: The results evaluated by CT showed that the CR of 81 lesions(55 patients)was 21.0%,PR was 71.6%,CR+PR was 92.6%.The one-year survival rate was 45.5%. The two-year survival rate was 14.5%.Conclusion: SRT can give precise radiation therapy to the chest and abdomen solid tumor without significantly increasing the damage to the surrounding tissues. The response of solid tumor at the chest and abdomen to SRT is satisfactory.
