Objective: To determine if the severity of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome differs by racial group. Methods: The study reviewed the results of 304 adult patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome by overnight polysomnogram between February, 2009, and February, 2010. Factors analyzed included race, age, body mass index (kg/m2) , neck circle, apnea hypopnea index (AHI) , lowest oxygen saturation level, average oxygen saturation level, hyperpnea times, apnea times and longest apnea time. Results: There are significant diffrents between the age, body mass index, neck circle and apnea times in the two race group. Conclusion: Uigur patient who present to the otolaryngologist–head and neck surgeon for evaluation of sleep-disordered breathing may be at increased risk of severe OSAHS.
