Objective: To study the relationship of the expressions of PDCD5, Mdm2, Tip60 and p53 in esophageal carcinoma in Xinjiang Kazakh and Han. Methods: RT-PCR was used to detect the mRNA of PDCD5, Mdm2 and Tip60 in 40 cases of the esophageal carcinoma. The PDCD5, Mdm2, Tip60 and p53 protein expressions were determined by using immunohistochemisry staining method. Results: (1)The positive incidence of PDCD5, Mdm2 and Tip60 mRNA expressions in 40 cases of the esophageal carcinoma tissues were 80.0﹪, 65.0﹪, 97.5﹪, The expression of Mdm2 mRNA in esophageal carcinoma was significantly higher than in normal esophagus mucosa and paracarcinoma tissue (P < 0.05). Semiquantitative analysis, expressions of PDCD5, Mdm2 and Tip60 mRNA have statistical significance in esophageal carcinoma and normal esophagus mucosa (P < 0.05). Expressions of PDCD5, Mdm2 and p53 protein have statistical significance in esophageal carcinoma and normal esophagus mucosa (P < 0.05). (2) There was no correlation between lymph node metastasis, differentiation and one of the three mRNA of PDCD5, Mdm2 and Tip60 (P > 0.05). There were no correlations between lymph node metastasis, differentiation and Mdm2 protein. The positive expression rate of PDCD5 protein in esophageal carcinoma was significantly correlated with tumor differentiation (P < 0.05). (3) No statistic significance of expression of PDCD5, Mdm2, Tip60 and p53 in esophageal carcinoma among Kazakh and Han in Xinjiang (P > 0.05). (4) There was a negative correlation between PDCD5 mRNA and Mdm2 mRNA. The expression of Tip60 was positively correlated with p53 protein. Conclusion: The expressions of PDCD5, Mdm2, Tip60 and p53 among Kazakh and Han in Xinjiang have common way. Expression of PDCD5 in esophageal carcinoma was significantly lower than in normal esophagus mucosa, Expressions of Mdm2, Tip60 and p53 in esophageal carcinoma were significantly higher than in normal esophagus mucosa. It was speculated that there may be a common transcription mechanism which constructed multiple pathways in cancer.
