【objective】The aim of this investagation is to explore the clinical characteristics and the prognosis of hepatitis Evirus. To study the therapeutic efficacy and the action mechanism of Cooling Blood-Prmoting the blood circulation &Removing damp-Catharsis.To seek the effective clinical tactic of the therapy for hepatitis Evirus.【Methods】Theoretical research is based on the summary and review of the literature about the ancient and modern Chinese and Western medicine, exploring the etiology and pathogenesis, dialectical classification and treatment of hepatitis E.The retrospective controlled study was conducted on 30 patients with hepatitis Evirus from the first hospital pertain to Jiangsu Province Chinese medicine hospital department of infectious disease and The second hospital of Nanjing, which were randomly divided into the therapeutic group and the control group by means of envelop. The two groups were both used western medical therapy,At the same time, therapeutic group accepted traditional Chinese medical treatment of Cooling Blood-Prmoting the blood circulation&Removing damp-Catharsis,and every day a dose, all for 15days. To analysis the synthetic therapeutic effiecacy of these two groups, the period of the disappearance of the main clinical symptoms and the decrease of jaundice of the effective cases. After therapy,we would compare the clinical effect between two groups in term of the level of liver function and the above content.【Results】The result of theoretical research shows that etiological factor of Hepatitis E is mainly exogenous causes of damp heat or loimic toxin, and the pathogenesis is that disease mainly caused by wet, hot blood stasis in the blood, blocking the circulation of qi and blood of organs, and resulting in the bile leaking in the unnormal channels. The experimental result shows that there is no significant difference in therapeutic effectiveness between treatment group and control group. However, the therapeutic effectiveness for relivering syndromes of treatment group is superior to that of control group((P<0.05),the rate for improving appetite, fatigue, loose stool and coating tongue of treatment group is suprior to that of control group((P<0.05). 【Conclusion】According to our findings,we may reasonably draw a conclusion that combination therapy with traditional Chinese medical treatment of Cooling Blood-Prmoting the blood circulation &Removing damp-Catharsis is an effective prescription for treating hepatitis Evirus. It is superior to control group especially in relieving clinical symptoms and improving syndromes with traditional Chinese medicine. This clinical study suggests that Chinese medicine may play an important role in improving the circulation of blood, the excretion of the alluvial bile and endotoxin, so as to protect the liver and promot the recovery of liver cells and the disappearence of jaundice.
