Objective:To study on the relations between endometrial carcinoma, endometrial which was abnormal bleeding, normal endometriums and infections of HPV.Methods:Using nested-PCR technology and GeneChip technology which is high-flux and the specificity to test 15 types of HPV. The survey was conducted for 40 patients of paraffin-embedded tissues from endometrial carcinoma (The histopathologic types of endometrial carcinomas were classified as 37 cases of endometrioid carcinoma,2 cases of adenocarcinoma with squamous metaplasia,1 case of mucinous adenocarcinoma and 1 case of undifferentiated carcinoma, and the histopathologic grades were grouped under 24 cases of well differentiated,10 cases of moderately differentiated, and 6 cases of poorly or not differentiated. The tumour stage was defined according to FIGO staging system:19 cases of stageâ… ,5 cases of stageâ…¡,4 cases of stage III and 2 cases of stage IV.)and 20 endometrial hyperplasias patients of various forms (simple, complex, and atypical). Normal endometriums from 20 patients were as control. Results:HPV was detected in 2 of specimens among the 40 cases of endometrial carcinoma. Positive rates of endometrial carcinoma that was infected of HPV were 5.0%(2/40), both positive for HPV 6. HPV was detected in 3 of specimens among the endometriums which was abnormal bleeding, positive for HPV 6,HPV 11 and HPV 6/11. Positive rates of endometrial carcinoma that was infected of HPV were 15.0%(3/20).No HPV DNA was detected in the controls (0/20).Conclusions:HPV being hardly detected in the endometrium indicates that the endometrium is not the suitable host of HPV replication and maturation. HPV infection seems not related to pathogenesis and transformation process of endometrial carcinoma. The endometrium of abnormal bleeding seems not related HPV infection. HPV infection seems not related to pathogenesis and transformation process of endometrial carcinoma.
