Objective To test the antibacterial activity of Argentation medical polypropylene mesh(PP) and detect its security in vivoMethods PPs of argentation PP group(n = 24) and non-argentation group (control group n = 24) were implanted in abdominal walls of the same rabbits in vivo .With reference to international standards (ISO 10993 series) and the national standard (GB / T 16886 series) of the implanted medical materials, evaluation criteria and recommended by the biology and animal experiments: After the PP mesh implanted in rabbits ,at different periods , we observed rabbit body weight, death, inflammation, blood biochemistry, liver and kidney function indicators.Results In vivo antibacterial test: At 1d, there was no significant difference between the two groups .At 3d, control group had more exudate. At 7d , the wound of silver group was healing, while the control group has a large number of pus. Bacterial count (quantity):At 3d and 7d there was significant difference between silver group and the control group (P <0.05). In the same group there was significant difference at different times (P <0.05); Histology:1d: the two groups can be seen a large number of inflammatory cell infiltration; 3d:inflammatory cells of silver-plated group was less than the control group's; 7d: the Silver group was seen a small number of inflammatory cells,while the control group was seen inflammatory cell invasion significantly, accompanied by a large number of necrotic tissue.In vivo Security test:After the mesh implanted , the rabbits had no obvious toxic reactions and death.There is no significant difference between the experimental group and control group in blood inflammatory indicator, blood biochemistry, liver and kidney function indicators and liver tissue HE staining(P> 0.05), It met the transformation rule of the general indicators of inflammationConclusion Argentation medical PP mesh in vivo of animal tests has a good anti-bacterial nature and Security...
