Objective: To explore the clinical significance of CEA,CA19-9,CA72-4 for evaluating the efficacy of chemotherapy in patients with gastric cancer. Methods: Collect the clinical data of 61 cases of stageâ…£gastric cancer diagnosed by histopathology from January 2006 to December 2009 in Xin Jiang Tumor Hospital. 61 patient's datas of CEA, CA19-9 andCA72-4 and the datas of assessment of the efficacy of chemotherapy were retrospectively analyzed. Results: In PR, SD group of objective efficacy, before and after chemotherapy, the data of CEA had no significant difference, (P were 0.586, 0.263,P all >0.05), in PD group of objective efficacy, the CEA was significantly increased compared with after chemotherapy and before chemotherapy, the difference had statistical significance, (P = 0.000, P <0.05).Before and after chemotherapy ,in PR, SD and PD group of objective efficacy, the data of CA19-9 was significantly increased compared with after chemotherapy and before chemotherapy, the difference had statistical significance, (P were0.036,0.006 and 0.000,P all<0.05); in PR group of objective efficacy, the data of CA72-4 was significantly reduced, after chemotherapy than before chemotherapy, the difference had statistical significance, (P=0.002, P<0.05); before and after chemotherapy the CA72-4 in SD group of objective efficacy, had no statistical significance, (P = 0.433, P>0.05); in PD group of objective efficacy, the CA72-4 was significantly increased compared with after chemotherapy and before chemotherapy, the difference had statistical significance, (P = 0.001, P <0.05). Conclusion: CEA,CA72-4 in evaluating efficacy of chemotherapy had a certain reference value. CA19-9 was non-referenced value in evaluating the efficacy. However, CEA,,CA72-4 can not completely substitute the indicators of objectively evaluate efficacy of chemotherapy in patients with gastric cancer.
