Objective: To analyze the characteristics of aged pulmonary embolism and nun-aged pul- monary embolism by Computed tomography pulmonary angiography(CTPA). Methods: The anatomic distribution, severity assessmen and indirect signs of pulmonary embolism in 55 older patients (≥60 ages) and 44 younger patients(<60 ages) were retros- pectively analyzed. Results: 1. The difference of the anatomic distribution of pulmonary embolism in two groups showed highly statistical significance (ZC =3.3052,P<0.001);there is none pulmonary embolism of first degree pulmonary artery in each group, but from second to third degree pulmonary artery oeeentrie filling defeet show statistical significance(χ2= 4.3336,P = 0.0374;χ2= 31.1477,P = 0.0000),and from fourth to fifth degree pulmonary artery oeeentrie filling defeet also show statistical significance(P<0.05);Indirect signs of pulmonary embolism:"mosaic"sign, dilated pleural and dilated bronchial artery between two groups showed highly statistical significance(χ2= 7.8872,P = 0.0050;χ2= 9.1743,P = 0.0025;χ2= 4.1856,P =0.0408). 2.Severity assessmen of pulmonary embolism: The difference of submassive pulmonary embolism between two groups showed highly statis- ticcal signifycance (χ2= 4.2672,P = 0.0389),and the older held more opportunity in dis- function of the right ventricular ,for RVMMA,distance of PA and PA/AO(u =3.3868,6.7231,P =0.0007,0.0000; t =2.5289,P =0.0131).3.Diseases of chest and cardia:Aged pulmonary embolism held malignant tumors ,chronic pulmonary of heare diseases and pos-toperation more than nun-aged pulmonary embolism. Conclusion: The anatomic distribu- tion of pulmonary embolism in two groups showed differences;Aged pulmonaryembolism held disfunction of the right ventricular more easily than nun-aged pulmonary embolism. We should pay more attention to this when analyzing the characteristics of aged pulmon- ary embolism and nun-aged pulmonary embolism by CTPA and help to choose valuable information with doctors.
