Study On Sub-health Condition And Its Influencing Factors Among Nurses Of The Class Ⅲ Hospital In Xinjiang Urumqi City

Objective:To investigate the prevalence and level of the sub-health condition of nurses in the classâ…¢hospitals in Xinjiang Urumqi city ,analyse its influencing factors and investigate the relationships between sub-health condition and demographic characteristics,job stressors,job burnout and workplace violence,so that to provide theoretical support for the relevant department to take measures to reduce nurse sub-health condition and to provide a basis for further research. Methods:Using multi-stage random cluster sampling,a total of 848 nurses from 6 Classâ…¢hospitals in Urumqi xinjiang completed a battery of questionnaires including the questionnaire on sub-health condition ,chinese version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory, the chinese version of the Nursing Job Stressor Scale,data on social and demographic characteristics,workeplace violence also collected.Results:1)The prevalence of sub-health condition was 59.32%,95CI (62.63%,56.01%).The symptoms of sub-health condition of the nurses were complex and involved physical ,psychological and social adjustment.2) The self-reported common diseases were found to be chronic gastritis ,irrgular menses,emotional problems such as depression ,tension,cervial syndrom,insomnia,and so on.3) Univariate analysis showed that there were significantly difference in sub-health condition between nurse with different age groups,working experience as a nurse, nationalities,departments,night shift and participating in physical activity(P<0.01).The prevalence of sub-health condition was higher in nurses who were over 35 years old,whose work time were more than 15 years,had night shift,did not participate in physical exercise, worked in the internal , pediatrics,intensive care units,emergency room,whereas nurses working in outpatient were lower ( P<0.01 ) .4)Overall sub-health condition,physiological sub-health condition, psychological sub-health condition,social adjustment sub-health condition were positively correlated with the five dimensions of nurse job stressors(P<0.01).The overall sub-health condition,physiological sub-health condition, psychological sub-health condition, social adjustment sub-health condition were positively correlated with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization(P<0.01).The overall sub-health condition,physiological sub-health condition, psychological sub-health condition, social adjustment sub-health condition were positively correlated with workplace violence(P<0.01).5) Multivariate analysis showed that factors shown to be associated with the nurse sub-health condition were emotional exhaustion, workload and time allocation problems, physical exercise, the nursing profession and work problems(P<0.01), workplace violence, these 5 factors explained 49.57% of the variances in the scores for the overall sub-health condition.Conclusion:1) The sub-health condition is prevalent among nurses working in the classâ…¢hospitals in Xinjiang Urumqi city , The hospital managers should pay more attention to the sub-helath problems of nurse. 2)The distribution of nurse self-reported common diseases is different from that of city female.3)The sub-health condition of the nurses was correlated with their demographic characteristics. Therefore, interventions to the sub-health should be carried out varying with each individual.4) There were several influencing factors to nurses'sub-health condition,so that reducing the nurses job stressors, workplace violence and job burnout,taking part in more physical exercise may be a effective measurs to help nurses eliminate or relieve sub-health conditon.
