An Relevance Investigation Of Tongue Demonstration,Helicobacter Pylori Contract Of Tongue And Stomach

Objective:Explore the mutual correlations among Hp infection in the tongue coat, infection in the stomach and the tongue examination of TCM; compare the differences between the two methods of RUT and PCR for the Hp examination in the tongue and stomach respectively so that we can find a convenient method for HP diagnosis.Methods:Select 50 cases randomly who haven't take any antibiotic in the recent month and haven't take sucralfate or PPI in recent two weeks as well to do the gastroscopy and also the biopsy at the antrum; inspect the tongue body, scrub the tongue coat from the middle to the root of tongue; search for the Hp with RUT and PCR in the two opposite groups; do the statistic analysis based upon the datas.Results:There are four examinations for each patient which are the RUT and PCR in the tongue coat and gastric mucosa. The positive rate of RUT in the tongue coat is the highest, followed by RUT and PCR in the gastric mucosa, PCR in the tongue coat. No significant difference exists between tongue-coat's PCR and PCR or RUT of the gastric mucosa; nor dose it, as far as the samples are concerned, after qualitative diagnosis according to scientific standard. There is some relation between the Hp in the stomach and tongue coat.There are significantly statistic difference and correlations between RUT and PCR methods of the gastric mucosa. Among the 50 patients,28 positives(56%) with RUT versus 22 positives(44%) with PCR; 22 patients are positive during both the two methods, and another 22 are negative during both the two methods. All the positive patients with PCR are included in the positives with RUT. When focusing on the tongue body and coat based upon the results of Hp examination, we found red tongue, yellow and greasy coat are frequent in most of the Hp infections.Conclusion:Hp does exist in the tongue coat. It can be an important storage for Hp. There is some correlation between gastric Hp-infection and the Hp in the tongue coat. Further research need to be done to improve the specificity of the RUT in the tongue coat because of its high sensibility, convenience and cheapness. Dampness-heat is probable the predisposing factor for Hp infection. As far as the examinations at the gastric mucosa are concerned, RUT has a better sensibility.
