Objectives To investigate the sonographic characteristics of superficial lymphadenopa-thy in lymphoma and evaluate the diagnostic value of sonography. Methods The sonograms of 34 lymphoma cases with 48 superficial lymph nodes were reviewed and compared with 36 cases with 45 benign reactive hypertrophic ones. The characteristics between two groups were com-pared the sites, the long-to-short ratio (L/S),the echogenic of hilus, peripheral blood per-fusion types, distribution, and the number of blood vessels and the gradation of blood flow were observed with PDI. Results Most of the lymphomatous lymph nodes were nearly round, absent of hilus, and usually in multilocations. The lymph nodes were invaded by lymphoma exhibited high perfusion, and there are colorful blood flow in center and peripheral. The blood distribution of lymphoma nodes exhibited malposition, deformation disorder and distortion withâ…¡toâ…¢grade blood flow. The blood flow in benign enlarged lymph nodes exhibited in regular shape, and its blood grade was 0 to II. Conclusion Sonography is valuable for the evaluation of superficial lymphadenopathy in lymphoma.
