Objective:To study the effects of low dose radiation (LDR) on the cell cycle protein E (Cyclin E) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) expression of S180 sarcoma in mice. Methods:Kunming male mice were implanted with S180 sarcoma cells in the right inguen subcutaneously as an in situ experimental animal model. A week after implantation, the mice were given 75mGy whole-bodyγ-ir radiation. At 12,24,48 and 72 h after irradiation, all mice were killed to measure the tumor diameter and detect the expression of Cyclin E and PCNA by P-V immunohistochemistry method. Results:Compared to the control group, the tumor growth was significantly slowed down after LDR, with the obviously difference at 72h (t=2.19, P<0.05). After the low dose radiation, the Cyclin E expression rate of each group was not obviously lower than no radiation group(P> 0.05).At 48h after LDR, the PCNA expression were obviously lower than no radiation group(u=2.34,P<0.05).In parts of mice accepted by the LDR, around of the sarcoma appeared many necrotic tissue and the lymphocyte infiltration. Conclusion:The LDR can inhibit the tumor growth, depress the PCNA expression of S180 sarcoma in mice, and cannot couse obviously effection to the Cyclin E expression, which makes for deeply study the inhibition mechanism of the radiation on tumor.
