Backgound Psoriasis(Ps) is a chronic, inflammatory, hyperproliferation skin disease that affecting about 1%-3% of the world population, but affeeting 0.123% Chinese, there were over 3,000,000 patients of psoriasis in China.Up to now, although the pathogenesis of psoriasis remains elusive, genetic, environmental, infectious, endocrine, metabolic obstacles and immunological factors have been suggested as playing etiological role in the disease. Recent use of genome scans has provided evidence of the susceptible alleles of psoriasis locus in the human leukocyte antigen(HLA) regeion. HLA genes locate in human chromosome 6p21.3 region. As one of the important marker of human cell surface, HLA is the most complicated human dominant polymorphic genetic system because of its highly complicated polymorphism. It plays an important role antigen recognition, presentation, immune and regulation. It differs significantly in different regions and races, which can be regarded as the best sign of colony genetic character and used for investigating diseases susceptibility group distribution and disease association study. Many studies showed that different HLA alleles have increased frequencies among patients with psoriasis in different racial or ethnic populations, especially HLA classâ… and classâ…¡specifities. At persent, there was not a systematic report about HLA polymorphism for psoriasis in Lanzhou of China. Objective To investigate the association between HLA-DRB 1*0701 allel and psoriasis vulgaris, psoriasis pustulosa in the Han nationality from Lanzhou area. Methods Using method of high-resolution polymerase chain reaction amplifi-cation with sequense specific primers(PCR-SSP), we detected the distribution frequencies of HLA-DRB1*0701 allele among 42 patients with psoriasis vulgaris,28 patients with psoriasis pastulosa and 50 healthy patients as the control and they were compared. Results The frequency of HLA-DRB1*0701 allele in patients with psoriasis vulgaris and psoriasis pustulosa(54.8%,46.4%) showed a sigalificant difference compared with that in the patients of the control group(22.0%).Conclusion HLA-DRB1*0701 may be the susceptible alleles of psoriasis val-garis and psoriasis pustulosa in Hans of Lanzhou region.
