Objective To explore the relationship of the chemokine receptor CCR2b gene 190G/A polymorphism with intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH) in Han population in Hunan Province. Methods For the case-control study, Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) is performed to identify the distributions of allele and genotype frequencies of the chemokine receptor CCR2b gene 190G/A polymorphism in 158 patients with ICH and 150 healthy controls, which are same at age and sex. Genotypes of different populations are compared to explore the association between the chemokine receptor CCR2b gene 190G/A polymorphism and intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).Results1.The chemokine receptor CCR2b gene 190G/A polymorphism exist in Chinese people of Hunan area. In the study populations, the frequencies of the chemokine receptor CCR2b 190G/A genotypes are 3.6%(AA),22.1%(GA) and 74.3%(GG), the frequencies of A/G allele is 0.146/0.854.2.In the control group, the frequencies of the chemokine receptor CCR2b 190G/A genotypes are 5.3%(AA),28.0%(GA),66.7%(GG), the frequencies of A/G allele is 0.193/0.807.3.In the ICH group, the frequencies of the chemokine receptor CCR2b 190G/A genotypes are 1.9%(AA),16.5%(GA),81.6%(GG), the frequencies of A/G allele is 0.102/0.898.4.To the chemokine receptor CCR2b gene 190G/A polymorphism, significant lower frequencies of A allele is confirmed in the ICH group with respect to the control group (P<0.05),especially in patients with hypertention and coronary heart disease.5.After ICH environmental risk factors have been adjusted through Logistic regression method, the CCR2b 190A allele can still bring down the incidence of ICH (OR=0.205,95%CI for OR=0.092-0.454, P=0.000).Conclusions The CCR2b 190A allele appears to decrease the morbidity of ICH, which suggests that the CCR2b 190A allele may be protective gene polymorphism for ICH.
