Objective:In the whole design programs guidance of "medical consequences evaluation system research on aged-related diseases" in the national 10th five-Year research project, revising the type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Quality of life Scale(DMQLS) developed by domestic Wangleshan, etc. The scale is more simple and easy to make, the revised scale of information keeps mostly unchanged, and reliability and validity of the original scale remain the same or similar. Methods:The site investigation adopted stratified random sampling method,201 cases of patients were investigated. Items were selected by using Delphi technique, T-test, discrete trend method, correlation coefficient method, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, stepwise regression method, clustering analysis, discriminant analysis, factor analysis. Revised Version of Quality of life Scale for Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus came into being, the Reliability and validity were evaluated and contrasted with the original scale.Result:The revision of the type 2 life-quality scale specific for diabetics with 39 items, which include 5 dimensionalities of diseases, psychology, physiology, society and satisfaction. The one week of test-retest reliability of the revised DMQLS is 0.956, the Cronbach's a coefficient is 0.936 and the split-half reliability coefficient is 0.780. Extract 11 common divisors for factor analysis that accumulated variance contribution rate is 70.732%. the correlation coefficients between each dimensionalities are from 0.317~0.699, and the correlation coefficients between dimensionalities and total score are from 0.636~0.829.The correlation coefficient of the revised DMQLS and total score of SF-36 is 0.786. The revised DMQLS is better at distinguishing diabetics of different resources:the 2 type diabetics and the non-2 type ones. The revised compare with DMQLS that the reliability of the 2 scales are generally the same; the scores of each dimensionalities and total scores of the Revised DMQLS and DMQLS are remarkably correlated (equal P< 0.0001), that the correlation coefficient is from 0.613~0.980, which indicate the structures of the two scales are basically the same. Conclusion:The revised DMQLS include 39items instead of 87, which is more convenient and simplified; the revised DMQLS is alternative with good validity and reliability; scientific methods are used to revise the scale.
