| Objective: To know the status and the changing trend of bone mineral density (BMD) under 15 years old children and establish the reference data of BMD in normal children for our children's health, clinical pediatrics and research work.Methods: The cluster sampling was used and the 29276 healthy children aged from 1 month to 15 years old come from the 8 city or Zhuhai, Kunming, Chenzhou, Suzhou, Anqing, Yangzhou, Chengdu and Shenyang, that being classified into 12 groups according to sex (boy and girl) and age. The survey form was filled, the weight and height of children were measured classically, and the bone mineral density of quantitative ultrasound was measured identically at the position of the front side middle tibial in the Left crus with the Hongyang ultrasonic bone analyzer of BMD 1000-C type.Results: The data was indicated that (1) the BMD of quantitative ultrasound in the healthy children aged from 1 month to 15 years old in China was summarized, that can be used practically in the clinical, and was a basic data of the children's bone nutritional status for further research. (2)Between the two gender groups, there was no significant difference in the BMD of quantitative ultrasound in the healthy children in the all age groups. (3)Between difference regions there were significant differences in BMD of quantitative ultrasound, or that was greater in southern region of China than that in northern region. (4)The increase of the BMD of quantitative ultrasound is gradually and the increase rule of that is that increase as the weight grow and as the height raise. (5) There is a correlation between the BMD of quantitative ultrasound and the age, the weight and height, the correlation coefficient can be used in the clinical pediatrics.Conclusion: In the clinical pediatrics the BMD of quantitative ultrasound in the healthy children in China aged from 1 month to 15 years old and the correlation coefficient can be applied.
