Ipomoea pes-caprae (Convolvulaceae) distrubutes in the tropical and subtropical countries. It has long been used in medicine to cure many diseases including inflame- mations, colic, diuretic disorders, gonorrhoea, dolorous processes, etc.The dried root of Ipomoea pes-caprae (5 kg) was extracted with MeOH. The extract was evaporated in vacuo to yield a residue (395 g) which was dissolved with H2O. Then, the water in-soluble residue dissolved with methanol. With application of various of liquid phase chromatographic techniques, including molecular sieve chromatography, reversed phase chromatography, silica gel chromatography, and different gradient solvent systems, also with HPLC. Twelve compounds was obtained from the water in-soluble residue. Four of these compounds have been identified by means of 1D NMR and 2D spectroscopic techniques, including 1H-1H COSY, HSQC, HMBC ROESY and HSQC-TOCSY. Those compounds were belonged to glycoside., which were:X20:(11S)-jalapinolic acid 11-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→3)-O-[4-O-(2S)- 2-methyl-butyryl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)]-O-(2-O-n-dodecanoyl) -α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→3)-β-D- fucopyranosideX21:(11S)-jalapinolic acid 11-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl -(1→3)-O-[4-O-(2S)- 2-methyl-butyryl -α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)]-O-(2-O-n-dodecanoyl) -α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D- xylopyranosideX23:(11S)-jalapinolic acid 11-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→3)-O-[4-O-(2S)- 2-methyl-butyryl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)]-O-(2-O-n-dodecanoyl) -α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→3)-β-D- glucopyranosideX33:(11S)-jalapinolicacid11-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→3)-O-[3-O- cinnamoyl-4-O-(2S)-2-methylbutyryl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)]- O-(2-O-n-dodecanoyl)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-α-L-rhamno- pyranosyl-(1→3)-β-D-fucopyranoside...
