Objective: To explore the relationship between the expressions of Fas/Fas ligand (FasL) and Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) in human glioma and the degree of malignance , and their significance. Methods: The expressions of Fas and FasL in 22 cases of glioma and 6 cases of normal brain tissues were detected by immunohistochemical assay and the expression of MDSC in the 22 glioma patients'blood before operation and the 6 healthy control'blood were detected by Flow Cytometry (FCM).Results: (1)The positive rates of expression of Fas and FasL were significantly higher (p<0.05) in the gliomas of high grade (â…¢,â…£) than that in the gliomas of low grade (â… ,â…¡).(2) The expression of MDSC was significantly higher in the glioma patients than those in healthy control(P<0.01); The expression of MDSC was significantly higher in the grade(â…¢,â…£) than that in the grade (â… ,â…¡)(P<0.05).(3) The expression of Fas/FasL was positively correlated to the expression of MDSC in the glioma. Conclusion: The expressions of Fas/FasL are close related to the degree of glioma malignance and pathologic type. The mechanism of immune escape medicated by glioma provided the base and method for the immune treatment of glioma.
