ObjectiveThe aim was to observe the protective effect of artificial hibernation therapy on patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage.Methods426 patients with SAH were randomly divided into three groups. All patients were treated with conventional therapy, besides, the group A were treated with artificial hibernation and hypothermia and the group B were treated with artificial hibernation only. The control group was group C. The neuroal function defects of every patient before and after therpy were observed and scorded. The complications including hemorrhage again ,cerebral angio spasm and hydrencephalus were recorded. The days of headache lasted of every patient and the number of death of every group were also recorded. Then compute the total effective rate and every complication incidence rate and mortality rate of every group. At last, compare the difference of the parameters described above between the three groups using statistical methods.ResultsSymptoms and physical signs of nervous system in treatment groups and control group were evidently improved after therapy ( P < 0. 05). Total effective rate(92.00%) in group A was obviously superior to that (64.81%) in group C(p<0.05). At the same time, the total effective rate in group C was evidently lower than that in group B. There was no significantly difference in total effective rate and in every of the complication incidence rate and mortality rate beteew group A and group B(P>0.05). All of the complication incidence rates and mortality rate in group C were evidently higher than that in group A or group B(p<0.05).ConclusionThe use of hibernation composition combined with hypothermia in SAH can improve the total effective rat, decrease the neuroal function defects, amelioration the disability of disease , reduce the incidence rate of every complication and reduce the . mortality rate . At the same time, the hibernation therapy is safe and effective with few adverse reactions. Further more, to carry out this method is very simple.
