Objective Study of brain injury in interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β), mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 (p38 MAPK) and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) in brain tissue characteristics of the timing of expression and its forensic significance. Methods 75 Sprague SD rats were randomly divided into control groups(includes normal group and surgery group), and the injury groups(includes 0.5 h group,1 h group,3 h group,6 h group,12 h group,1 d group,3 d group,5 d group,7 d group,9 d group and 14 d group). Immunohistochemical staining was detected in brain tissue IL-1β, p38 MAPK and VCAM-1 expression. Results In the control group rat brain IL-1β, p38-MARK and VCAM-1 expression were small. Compared with the control group, brain tissue damage in IL-1βexpression is increased after injury 0.5 h,3 h peak,6h gradually decreased to normal levels after injury 3 d; p38 MAPK expression after injury began to increase at 1h,6h peak and then gradually decreased to normal levels after injury 5d; VCAM-1 expression is increased after injury 1 h,12 h peak,1 d gradually decreased to normal after injury 9d level. Conclusion IL-1β, p38 MAPK and VCAM-1 in the closed diffuse brain injury in rats with early stage increased rapidly in the late gradually returned to normal, after injury among the temporal changes of expression are consistent, to participate in the pathophysiological process of brain injury; IL-1β, p38 MAPK and VCAM-1 as a co-indicators can be judged in the forensic practice injury time.
