Objective:To analyze cavernous sinus syndrome(CSS), including anatomy of cavernous sinus, pathogenesis and etiology, clinical manifestation, auxiliary examination, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.Methods:Combining the repesentative case of cavernous sinus syndrome(CSS), search former literaturesand analyze this disease.Conclusions:Cavernous sinus syndrome also known as Foix syndrome, or pituitary sphenoid syndrome, was first reported by Foix in 1921 with painful ophthalmoplegia as the most often manifest. It was caused by cavernous violations for various reasons, effect the cranial nerves near. The anatomy of cavernous sinus is complex and characteristic, so it can caused by many reasons, and clinical manifestations are characteristic too.
