ObjectiveTo investigate the conditions and characteristics of the drug regimens which normalized blood pressure to standard in First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College in 2009, summarize the relationship between drug regimens and hypertension with other diseases or complications, and analyze the rationality of drug regimens. To provide reference for rational use of antihypertensive agents.Methods1. The retrospective survey was performed by collecting cases of inpatients with essential hypertension in First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College in 2009.2. Cases were screened by the standard of Hypertension Prevention Guide in diagnostic criteria and the change of blood pressure.3. Drugs and the regimens of antihypertensive therapy were classified according to the hypertension with other disease or target organ damage. Characteristics of drug therapy and regimens was summarized and analyzed.4.Statistical software SPSS13.0 was used to analyze data, counting data with the chi-square test. P <0.05 means the difference is significant. ResultsThere were 150 cases which only required a single drug to control blood pressure in 671 cases, accounting 22.35%.CCB was used most widely for various hypertension, especially for simple hypertension and hypertension with coronary heart disease. ARB was mainly used for simple hypertension or merging diabetes mellitus.ACEI was mainly used for hypertension merging cerebral vascular disease.β?-RB was mainly used for hypertension merging coronary heart disease.521 cases required combined-drug , accounting 77.65%:262 cases required two drugs combination, accounting 39.05%. CCB + ARB /ACEI was the most common, which was used for various hypertension, especially for simple hypertension, hypertension with diabetes mellitus or cerebral vascular disease. CCB+β-RB was the second combination, which was mainly used for hypertension merging coronary heart disease. ACEI+β-RB was rare ,which was mainly used for hypertension merging heart failure.201 cases required three drugs combination, accounting 29.96%. In the drug regimens, ACEI/ARB+CCB+DA or ACEI+CCB+β-RB was most common. The former was used for simple hypertension or hypertension merging diabetes. The latter was mainly used for simple hypertension or hypertension merging coronary heart disease.52 cases required four drug combination, accounting 7.75%.β-RB+ ACEI+ DA+ DA andβ-RB+ ACEI+ CCB+ DA were common. 6 cases required five drug combination ofβ-RB+ ACEI/ ARB+ CCB+α-RB+ DA, accounting 0.89%. These two treatments above were used for simple hypertension, hypertension with one or more other disease. ConclusionsThe first-line antihypertensive agents is used in all the cases collected. CCB and ACEI/ARB is commonly used in both a single drug and drug combinations. Most inpatients with hypertention require drug combinations to normalize blood pressure. The mainly drug combinations are combining of two drugs and three drugs. The number of combined-drugs is unrelated with concomitant or complications(P>0.05).In the antihypertensive drug combinations, CCB+ACEI/ARB, CCB+β-RB, CCB+β-RB+ACEI/ARB, CCB+ACEI/ARB+DA are the better choices. The drug regimens used for hypertension in First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College accord with Hypertension Prevention Guide basically.
