Objective To study the relationship of free fatty acids(FFA) with type 2 diabetic retinopathy(DR).Methods The clinical data of 83 type 2 diabetes divided into pure type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) group 42 cases and diabetic retinopathy (DR) group of 41 cases,and compared with 41 healthcontro1(NC) from December 2009 to December 2010.The thesis is calculated to make a contrastive analysis on the differences of FFA, cholesterol (CHOL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides (TG) and the course of disease in three groups.Results FFA level was higher in DR group than in groups of DM and contro1 (P<0.01);course of disease was longer in DR group than in groups of DM (P<0.01).Conclusions FFA and the course of disease are important risks factor for DR.
