Clinical Study On The Prevention And Treatment Of Postmenopausal Osteoporosis With Kidney-norishing, Spleen-strengthening And Blood-activating Medicine Powder

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of Kidney-norishing, Spleen-strengthening and Blood-activating Medicine Powder treating osteoporosis Postmenopausal osteoporosis; to search effective prescription and its formulations so as to lay a theoretical foundation for and to seek clinical approach to the prophylaxis and treatment of osteoporosis.Methods58 patients were chosen by adoption standards in our out-patient clinic form August 2010 to March 2011. They were then divided into a treatment group of 30 cases and a control group of 28 cases by randomized single-blind control method. For a successive period of three months, patients from both groups took Caltrate D, and Alendronate Sodium Tablets with the control group patients taking additional Kidney-norishing, Spleen-strengthening and Blood-activating Medicine Powder. And then such improvements of these patients were compared before and after therapy as:BMC and BMD of Radius-ulna, syndrome of yang deficiency of kidney, metabolic index of related bones.Results1. After three-month's therapy, the treatment group demonstrated a significant clinical improvement and a significant difference in the clinical efficacy compared with that of the control group respectively before and after therapy.2. After three-month's therapy, the treatment group showed a significance reduce in symptoms of yang deficiency of kidney and a significant difference in the clinical efficacy compared with the treatment group before therapy and the control group after therapy respectively.3. After three-month's treatment, there were significant improvements in BMC and BMD of bones and metabolic index of bones respectively(E2, IL-6, urine Ca/Cr, urine Hop/Cr). The treatment group after therapy indicated a significant difference compared with the group before therapy and the control group after therapy respectively.ConclusionKidney-norishing, Spleen-strengthening and Blood-activating Medicine Powder could significantly improve the clinical symptoms (pain, functional activities and syndrome of yang deficiency of kidney)of osteoporosis after women's menopause, relieve pain, effectively both increase BMC and BMD of bones and improve metabolic index of bones like E2, IL-6, urine Ca/Cr, urine Hop/Cr. Kidney-norishing, Spleen-strengthening and Blood-activating Medicine Powder enjoys a satisfactory clinical efficacy, and thus was worth of a general clinical application.
