Clinical Curative Effect Of Nangengning Decoction On The Male Climacteric Syndrome With Kidney Asthenia And Hepatic Stagnation

BackgroundThe incidence of male climacteric syndrome in the world increased year by year. Modern medicine for male climacteric syndrome, is mainly by Testoster-one Supplement Therapy(TST). As the long-term use of testosterone,the adverse effects on the body are significant, and patients are not appreciated to accept the high expenses. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has remarkable effects in adjusting the function of hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad (HPG), the abnor-malities of endocrine, the adjustment of immune function, delaying senilitym etc.ObjectivesThis topic is to research the clinical curative effect of nangengning decoction, to prove the clinical curative effect of treatment exactly for male climacteric syndrome with kidney asthenia and hepatic stagnation without obvious side effects, and to prepare For further studies on the mechanism.MethodsA total of 60 patients with male climacterium syndrome was randomly ass-igned to two groups. One group containing 20 patients received the Testosterone Undecanoate Capsules(TUC). TUC(40mg each) was given orally 2times a day for a total of 3 months. The second group containing 40 patients received the Chi-nese herb soup(NanGengNing Soup).The Soup(100 ml, each) was also given orally 1 time a day for a total of 3 months. To assess the function the blood component of T, FSH, LH were determined by Enzyme—Linked Immunosorbent Assay, ELISA. And TSI is calculated by T/LH. Change in the level of the indicator aboved was compared each month. All the results will be calculated statistically. ResultThe results were not statistically different regarding the questionnaire score of PADAM(p>0.05) among the groups. Baseline levels of the score were statistically different among the intra-group(p<0.01). The results were not statistically different regarding the FSH, LH, T, TSI in Chinese medicine after treatment (p>0.05). And the results were not statistically different regarding the FSH, LH in TUC after treatment (p>0.05). But the results were statistically different regarding the T, TSI in TUC after treatment(p<0.01).ConclusionThere are significant effects after drinking the Chinese herb soups (Com-pound NanGengNing soup) in male climacterium patients. There is not statistic-cally different compared with the group using testosterone undecanoate caps-ules. The Chinese herb soups (Compound NanGengNing soup) works in a different way from the testosterone undecanoate capsules.
