Objective: To evaluate two methods for neovascular glaucoma ((Neovascular glaucoma, NVG) effect. Methods: The hospital in January 2008-2010 in October with Ahmed glaucoma valve glaucoma drainage devices (Ahmed glaucoma valve, AGV), and Semiconductor diode laser transscleral photocoagulation (Transscleral cyclophotocoagulation, TSCPC) 50 cases NVG medical records were reviewed retrospectively. AGV implantation in 15 cases of which 35 cases TSCPC, compared postoperative IOP, visual acuity, and concurrent disease. Results: The two preoperative and postoperative IOP in each group were significantly lower in comparison. AGV implant group and TSCPC IOP after 1 week there was a significant difference (P<0.05), after January and March compared intraocular pressure, no significant difference (P> 0.05). acuity: AGV implant group: Postoperative visual acuity improved in 5 eyes, remained unchanged in 7 eyes,3 eyes decreased vision. TSCPC group: After 5 visual acuity improved visual acuity remained unchanged in 22 eyes (9 eyes in which no light perception),8 decreased vision. postoperative complications: AGV implant group: eye pain and 4 eyes (26%), corneal edema in 6 eyes (40%), shallow anterior chamber in 3 eyes (20%), hypotony in 2 eyes (13%), hyphema in 2 eyes (13%), anterior chamber fibrin exudation 4 eyes (24%), obstruction of drainage pipe 2 (13%). TSCPC Group: eye pain, 25 (68%), corneal edema in 20 eyes (57%), anterior chamber fibrin exudation in 7 eyes (20.5%), hyphema in 9 eyes (25%). hypotony eye atrophy in 1 eye (2.9%). postoperative complications in the early response and eye pain AGV implantation group, the incidence of corneal edema was significantly lower than TSCPC (P<0.05), two groups of hyphema and anterior chamber fibrin exudation There was no significant difference (P> 0.05). After the success rate: AGV group was successfully implanted in 12 eyes and ineffective in 3 eyes, a success rate of 80%, TSCPC group,25 successful, invalid for the 10 The success rate was 71%, compared the success rate difference between the two groups were not significant differences (P> 0.05). Conclusion: AGV implantation patients in group and TSCPC carnage for the treatment of glaucoma are new and effective method, but because TSCPC it is a destructive operation, only for advanced glaucoma and absolute glaucoma. AGV implant surgery group patients were mild, with few complications, is a filtration surgery, right eye tissues devastating effect on a visual function in some patients is a more safe and effective treatment.
