Objective:To discuss the clinical value of laparoscopic and gastroscopic resection on gastric stromal tumors. Methods:The clinical data of patients with laparoscopic and gastroscopic resection on gastric stromal tumors, admitted to Jinhua Municipal Central Hospital from Sep.2004 to Jul.2009,were retrospectively analyzed. The data included the surgical procedure, operative time, blood loss, time for passage of flatus, postoperative length of stay, operative complications, pathology and the results of follow-up.Results:All the 25 patients were treated by laparoscopic procedures successfully without conversion to open surgery, including 15 laparoscopic gastric wedge resections.and 10 laparoscopic transgastric tumor-everting resections. The mean operative time was 70(50-100)min, quantity of blood loss was 60(30-100)ml, time for passage of flatus was 3(1-5)d and the postoperative hospital stay was 6(4-8)d. The resection margin of the tumor was microscopically negative, and the median size of the tumor was 3(1-5)cm. After 10-22 months of follow-up, there was no recurrence or metastasis. Conclusions:Resection of gastric stromal tumors with laparoscopy combined with gastroscopy is a safe, feasible and effective treatment for gastric stromal tumor, with satisfactory positioning accuracy, less trauma, and faster postoperative recovery.
