Objective:To investigate the incidence of Cockett syndrome complicating chronic venous disease and the diagnosis and treatment of Cockett syndrome. Methods:Enrolled patients of lower extremity chronic venous disease underwent routine Lower extremity venography and left iliac vein Computed tomographic venography Patients who had been diagnosed with Cockett syndrome underwent endovascular stent implantation or traditional surgery.Results:229 patients had lower extremity chronic venous disease and 34 patients had been diagnosed with Cockett syndrome, the incidence of Cockett syndrome complicating chronic venous disease is 14.8%.21 patients received endovascular stent implantation, and 18 patients were followed up (follow-up rate 85.7%) and during the follow-up time period(14±4.8months), No stent migration, deep vein thrombosis occurred.the patency rates was 100%. Symptom was not relieved in 1 patient who received Stent implantation,so after 1 month he received varicose vein stripping surgery.6 patients received conventional surgery and 4 patients were followed up (follow-up rate 66.7%)and during the follow-up time period(11.75±5.8months),3 patients had no complications and 1 patient occurred artificial vascular thrombosis in 2 months after surgery. Another 7 patients refused surgical treatment. Conclusion:Cockett syndrome is a common clinical phenomenon. The left iliac vein Computed tomographic venography is valuable in diagnosis of Cockett syndrome. Endovascular interventional treatment is the preferred method of Cockett syndrome.
