Objective:To study the prognostic factors in patients with pancreatic carcinoma after curative resection. Methods:The clinical data of 36 patients with pancreatic carcinoma treated by reseetion in The first hospital affiliated Chongqing medicial university from 1995 to 2005 were retrospectively analyzed and 9 possible feators influencing Survival were seleeted. A multivariate analysis was performed on these patients by the computegs Cox proportional hazard mode1.Results:Univariate analysis identified 4 factors that were associated with a significant outcome :size of the tumor(P<0.05).lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).grade of differentiation(P<0.05). lymph node metastasis and the size of the tumor were found to be the 2 most important prognostic factots by multivariate analysis using the COX proportional hazard model. Conclusions:lymph node metastasis and the size of the tumor are the most important prognostic factors for pancreatic carcinoma after resection.
