The Cognitive Impairment In The Patients With Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

Object Investigate the effect of MoCA scale in CSVD patients.Method A total with 88 patients with CSVD admitted between Septemper 2010 and March 2011 at Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Department of Neurology. Cognitive function was examined with Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and Mini Mental State Examination(MMSE).The MRI imagings of LA were examined with Fazekas'method. Assess the MRI findings with the method refered in the literature.Results There are 81 patients have cognitive function impairment with MoCa in which 58 patients are normal with MMSE, and 24 patients with MMSE<27 score in which 1 patient MoCA≥26 score; The MRI imaging findings of LA and EPVS are significantly correlated with the cognition defect( Fazekas'method[1]:r=-0.504, P<0.05; EPVS:r=-0.506, P<0.05 ).Conclution (1)There is significant correlation between CSVD patients'MRI imaging findings and cognition defect; (2)MoCa is more sensitive than MMSE in examing cognitive function impaiement with CSVD patients;...
