The application of radionuclide has extended over every area of society, and plays an irreplaceable role in agriculture, industry, medicine and national defense field. The radionuclide mainly extracted from natural minerals about a hundred years ago. Nowadays, it can be obtained by an artificial way benefited from the developments of accelerator and nuclear plant. The generation and research of radionuclide by accelerator has advantages that, for instance, it is very convenient to produce and study the short-lived radioisotopes. Our domestic experimental conditions, such as CS-30 isochronous cyclotron and intense fast neutron generator, could be considered to produce radionuclide. The radio nuclides such as Hf, Lu and Yb could be obtained from Yb target bombarded byαparticle with CS-30 isochronous cyclotron. In order to reduce the effects such as 67Ga and 65Zn on the measurement, the method of radioactive chemistry has been used to separate and purify the irradiated target. At the same time, 14 MeV neutron produced by intense fast neutron generator has been used to get radioactive isotopes Hf and Lu etc. by activating natural Hf samples. Gamma spectroscopy has been measured for a long time in order to get the yields and half-life about these products. After measurement of irradiated samples, the information about part of radioactive nuclides has been gotten. The radiation branch ratios, half-life, yields and average reaction cross sections of 175Hf,173Hf,172Hf,173Lu,172Lu and 173Yb form Alpha fusion reactions have been analyzed, and the average cross sections have been compared with the experimental data of B.Kirlaly group. The radiation branch ratios, half-life, yields and average reaction cross sections have been analyzed for 175Hf,173Lu and 181Hf obtained in neutron activation, the average cross sections have been compared with the data form the database. This work provides some reference experimental data and methods in researching and producing radioactive isotopes on the accelerator for future.
