As one of the common aliments, vulvovaginal candidiasis-VVC occurrred frequently. VVC turned to be recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis-RVVC when it developed as follows:the clinical symptoms of VVC disappeared after treatments were given, however, they reoccurred after the mycology examination showed negative, and furthermore if the mycology check showed opsitive or if VVC reoccurred no less than 4 times whthin one year. Information abroad told us that about three-forth women were infected with VVC within their life,40% to 50% among whom sufferred from it twice. The disease belong to Pruritus vulvae or Leukorrheal disease in traditional chinese medicial science.Common clinical types included syndrme of Dampass-heat,spleen deficiency syndrome, kidney yang deficiency pattern, pyretic toxicity, syndrome of yin deficiency and water retention. Modern medical science said that usually VVC reoccurred several days before and after Menstruation, not only because of that during these special days the existence of lactobacillus caused the instability of periodic vaginal bacteria, but also because of the redundant estrogenic hormones resulted from the lacking of progestational hormone. During progestational stage VVC of severe corresponding clinical characteristics attacked women occationally and it could not be cured although long-time treatment was given. Women infected with VVC suffered from nightmaire and vegetative dystonia, which had a very bad inference on women's physical and mental health, work and family life.ObjectiveThe aim was to examine and analyse the recent and long-dated efficacy of the treatment for RVVC according to Clinical research, to explore the associative causes adding to the future development of clinical science. Methods 60 cases are included in the research. Up to the dialectical standard of "syndrme of Dampass-heat" in chinese medicine and the Diagnosis standand of RVVC in Western medicine, they were from department of acupuncture and department of gynaecology in Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine during the period from2009.7 to 2010.8. They were to be defied being infected with RVVC in accordance with standard. Sisty patients are divide into two groups—study group and control group randomly with 30cases for each. Patients in study group were treated with acupuncture in combination with point application, while control group offered. There were both intensive treatment and consolidate treatment in the two groups.Control group's intensive treatment was to give Miconazole nitrate of200mg/each once everyevening, seven days as a period;Control group's consolidate treatment was to offer Miconazole nitrate of 400mg/each every Period Before, once every evening, three days as a period and it should last for three Period. Study group's intensive treatment was to offer one-month's every otherday acupuncture. Study group's intensive treatment was to offer acupuncture twice every week. Point application was also given when acupuncture was given in the two study groups, twice a week, three to four hours everytime and it should last for three Period. No other additional treatment and sexlife were allowed during the period of treatment. TO explore the effect rignt after the treatment and the effect three months after the treatment was stopped. To build daterbase and make some analysis with CONCISE STATISTICS (V14.0).Results1.There was no synificant difference in cure rate between the two groups (P>0.05)with 90% for study group and 96.67% for control group. The two were well-matched in efficacy.2.There was noticeable difference for Chinese medicine symptom score after treatment between the two groups (P<0.05), Treatment in control group was more effective in inproving patients' Chinese medicine symptom than treatment from study group; and there was noticeable difference of the grading for before and after treatment in patients with Chinese medicine symptom score between the two groups (P<0.05), the diversification of the treatment in control group was lagrer than treatment from study group; That was to say, Acupuncture, together with point application was more effective in inproving patients' Chinese medicine symptom than treatment from study group. 3.There was not significantly difference after treatment in patlents with Western medicine to check points of comparison between the two groups (P> 0.05), So, there was the considerable effective in inproving patients'Western medicine to check; The grading of the Western medicine to check points was not significantly difference (P>0.05), it was menifect that, the study group of the diversification of Western medicine to check was the considerable effective with the control group; There was the considerable effective in inproving patients'Western medicine to check between the two groups.4.After followed up, there was zero case of recrudescence in the 4th week, one cases in the 8th week and one case in the 12th week in study group(totally 7cases), whereas in control group there were in total 11 cases of recrudescence with one, three and four cases in the 4th,8th and 12th week respectively.5.Before and after the treatment, the blood, liver (ALT) and kidney (BUN,Cr) of 21 patients from study group and 23 patients from control group were normal; while in control group 5 cases of patients treated with Miconazole Nitrate had a pain in the vulva and had pruritus, yet they relieved spontaneously withpout any special cure. Conclusion:Acupuncture, together with point application was absolutely effecctive in the cure of RVVC. Not only did it help to improve physical health, but also it tended to reduce the rate of recrudescence or prolong the period bewteen recrudescences. Free from side effects, This method of treatment was very dependable and effective for the cure of RVVC.
