The Healing Effect Of Traumatic Knee Joint Stiffness After Using Chinese Medicine Fuming-washing

ObjectiveClinical research to the healing effect of traumatic knee joint stiffness after using Chinese medicine fuming-washing.MethodsThis study is a retrospective study. The objects of study are the patients who contracted fractures at and around the knee joint, and have remained in Taishan Hospital of Chinese Medicine from June,2010 to March,2011 with complete information. According to the standard of inclusion and exclusion, thirty-five cases were selected of which thirty cases were with complete follow-up study. The percentage of follow-up study is 87%. First, traumatic knee joint stiffness cases with variety of causes were randomized. Second, cases using Chinese medicine fuming-washing coordinating with physical practice to knee joint and cases using only physical practice to knee joint were compared. Third, for the patients with follow-up 10 days after the first treatment and for the patients with follow-up 30 days after the first treatment, the ability of movement at knee joint including the bendable and extendable degree, and the level of pain were statistically recorded. Forth, the VAS evaluation method was employed. Finally, the results were compared and analyzed, and the healing effects were evaluated.ResultsTreatment group and control group statistically recorded and analyzed the results of the treatment to the knee joint stiffness after the surgery. However, there was not obvious difference between the two groups of data (P>0.05). Furthermore, there was comparability between the two groups of patients according to the level of knee joint stiffness and pain before treatment. The knee joint bendable degree and pain level of the two group patients were also compared by t analysis 0,10, and 30 days after the treatment, respectively. There was obvious difference between those two groups of data. Note that the healing effect of the treatment team using Chinese medicine fuming-washing was obviously better than the healing effect of the control group. Through the comparison and analysis between the two groups, the group of patients who used Chinese medicine fuming-washing had greater capable degree of knee bending and less pain than the control group who did not use Chinese medicine fuming-washing. Therefore, note that the healing effect of the treatment group is better than the healing effect of the control group. Nonetheless, the healing effect of the control group is acceptable. Note that the key effect is the physical practice to the knee joint, and the medicine only acts as the role of support.Conclus ionFor the treatment to the traumatic knee joint stiffness, the healing effect after using Chinese medicine external washing and fuming-washing coordinating with physical practice is better than the healing effect using only physical practice.
