BackgroundLumbar disc herniation, also known as rupture of lumbar interver-tebral disc nucleus herniation. It is mainly because the various parts of lumbar intervertebral disc (including nucleus pulposus, annulus fi-brosus and car-tilage endplate) take place different degrees of deg-enerative changes, especi-ally the nucleus, with the role of external factors, annulus fibrous of intervertebral disc rupture, from which the nucleus pulposus rupture (or prolapse) on the back or spinal canal, lead adjacent tissues such as nerve roots, blood vessels,or spinal cord to a kind of pathological change, which resulting in lumbodynia compare with sciatic nvrve radioactive pain and other characteristic symptoms. It is one of the most common in clinical of backleg pain disorders, occurs in young adults aged 20 to 40, more men than women, the incidence part of the L4/5 is the most, L5/S1 less, and the L3/4 least.Currently, for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation, which con-tains two kinds:conservative treatment and surgical treatment. For pa-tients with lumbar disc herniation without significant nerve damage, which generally tre-ated conservatively. Scholars believe that about 85%-90% of lumbar discher-niation patients choose conservative treatment, may be more satisfactory recovery;10%-15% of the lumbar disc herniation patients eventually require surgery. In these different kinds of surgery, because of which damaged the lumbar spine and its surrounding structure differently in the range, degree, size, proportion and so on, which would affect the ability of lumbar spinal in certain. The fenestration is widely used in clinical because of its'small trauma, less bleeding, rapid postoperative recovery, small impact on the stability of the lumbar spine etc.Objectives30 cases of patients with lumbar disc herniation were retrospectively reviewed, to assess the most common operation of fenestration (including unilateral mini-fenestration, and endoscopic disc excision, fenestration expansion) to cure lumbar disc herniation within half a year in the clinical, which would or not affect the stability of lumbar spine.MethodsPatients with lumbar disc herniation compared with fenestration in the rear, observed with or without changes on X-ray lumbar spine (lumbar coronal and anteroposterior axes, lumbar hyperflexion and hyperextension) which at the preoperative compared with postoperation of 1 month,3 months,6 months after, to estimate the ratio of small joints'removal in the op-eration and the extend of damaged soft tissue, to survey the change in lumbar hyperflexion and hyperextension's angulation between the ver-tebrae within preoperative and postoperative, the change of slippage be-tween adjacent vertebral bodies, intervertebral height changes, to know the surgical fenestration within half a year whether or not affect the stability of the lumbar spine.ResultsComparison the X-ray of the lumbar spine in preoperative and post-perative 1 month,3 months,6 months, the difference was not significant (P> 0.05)。ConclusionThe affect of the fenestration on the stability of lumbar within half a year is small.
