Objective:Detection the expression of transporter associated with antigen processing protein 1 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and chronic nasopharyngitis tissues, studied with the relationship between the expression and clinical pathological data, and then explore the TAP1 molecule immune escape in NPC function and significance. Methods:There were 20 cases of chronic inflammation of nasopharyngeal mucosa biopsy paraffin blocks and 58 samples of nasopharyngeal carcinoma paraffin blocks of tumor biopsies with their clinical data of patients. Applied immunohistochemical technique to exmine the expression of TAP 1 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and nasopharyngitis tissues, Calculation of the relationship of differential expression and risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, analyzed with clinicopathologic parameters. Results:The positive rate of TAP1 was 70.00% and 44.83% respectively in chronic inflammation of nasopharyngeal mucosa tissues and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, there was significant difference between them (P<0.05). In nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues, the expression of TAP1 have relativity with T-stage of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, metastasis of cervical lymph node, and clinical relevance of TNM stage (P<0.05), Meanwhile, the expression of TAP1 have no correlation with age and sex (P>0.05).Conclusions:The expression of TAP1 in chronic nasopharyngitis is higher, but the expression of TAP1 molecules in nasopharyngeal carcinoma was significantly reduced, and it correlated with the clinical stage of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and lymph node metastasis. It describe that TAPl involved in the arise, invasion and metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The down regulation and loss of TAP1 molecules may hinder the process of tumor cells presenting antigen, it is not good for the infiltration of cytotoxic T lymphocytes for carcinoma substance, and promote nasopharyngeal carcinoma tumor cells to escape immune surveillance.
