Stroke, which is known as cerebrovascular accident, is a sudden cerebral vascular disease caused by a brain dysfunction. The sequela of stroke not only makes patients felt physical pain, but it also increases the burden of these families and lessens the amount of social labor. Therefore physicians of rehabilitation need to think about how to recover the function of exercise and how to make an early return to society more efficiency. Nowadays Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy(CIMT) has been used in clinical rehabilitation actively, the basic idea of CIMT is enforce using sick limb by properly restrict the activity of contralateral limb, the function of impaired nerve recovered gradually undergo several stages of comprehensive training, so it would obtain significant improvement in the function of sick limb, therefore the anticipated therapeutic purposes would achieved. There's less achievements in China and other countries in the areas of lower extremities'CIMT. The purpose of our experimental project is exploring CIMT's effect on motor function of lower extremity, balance, cardiopulmonary function and activities of daily living by clinical trials. Objective:To investigate effects of Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) on hemiplegic patients'ability in motor function of lower lamb, balance, cardio-pulmonary function and activities of daily living. Significance:To clarify the efficacy of CIMT to promote patients'ability in motor function of lower lamb, balance, activities of daily living and so on. The results can also guide CIMT in clinical application. Hemiplegic patients can eventually return to the families and even society, the burden on families and society can be alleviated. Methods:The main clinical interfere method is wearing splint on knee of uninjured leg; The major exercise items are up-down training, treadmill training, walking exercises, up and down stairs training; The main rating methods are Fugl-meyer assessment, Barthel index of ADL, Berg balance scale, 6 minutes walk test.Select out the standard subjects and divide into control group, CIMT treatment group randomly. Evaluate two groups of patients by the same rating methods above. Patients in control group received conventional rehabilitation; Patients in treatment group received conventional rehabilitation treatment, and wearing splint on knee of uninjured leg at the same time. Make evaluation of two groups'therapeutic effect after 4 weeks and 8 weeks. Make statistical analysis of the results and then draw conclusions. Results:The ability in motor function of lower lamb, balance, cardio-pulmonary function and activities of daily living of patients has been increased in the two groups after 8 weeks treatment, there is a significant difference in groups(P <0.05). There is also a significant difference Between the two groups (P <0.05) .Conclusion:For post-stroke hemiplegic patients in sub-acute period and convalescence, CIMT could speed up the recovery of motor function of lower limb when compare to traditional rehabilitation therapy.
