| Abstract Objective To investigate the expression of transcription factor Spl, Notch1 and KLF4 in gastric cancer,to explore three in gastric cancer expression of correlation relationship and significance.Methods Using immunohistochemistry SABC method,we studied expression patterns of Spl Notch1 and KLF4 in 76 cases of gastric cancer surgical specimens and30cases of normal gastric tissue,the correlation of three expression,and their expression in gastric cancer were analyzed.Results The positive rate of KLF4 was76.67% in normal gastric tissue, yet it expressed a weak or missing in gastric cancer tissue. The positive rate of SP1 and Notchl respectively was 63.16% and 65.79% significantly higher in gastric cancer than in normal gastric tissue(P <0.05).Three were no relevance between the expression of Spl Notchl and KLF4 and gender and age (P>0.05), the expression of Sp1,Notchl and KLF4 were relevant to the Clinical stage (P<0.05),and the expression Notchl and KLF4 was relevsnt to the Pathology-grade(P <0.05).The expression of KLF4 was negatively correlated to that of Notchl (r=-0.629, P <0.05),and the expression of KLF4 was negatively correlated to that of SP1 (r=-0.566, P <0.05)Conclusion The expression of KLF4 decreased in gastric cancer, he positive rates of Notchl and SP1 were significantly higher in gastric cancer than in normal gastric tissue. A negatively correlation exists between KLF4 and Spl Notchl in gastric cancer tissues. The expression imbalance of KLF4 and SP1 Notchl may play an important role to to the occurrence and development of gastric cancer.
