| Objective: To study the association between the correlative factors and the depression score in the patients with obstructive sleep apnea(OSA), to explore the correlative factors of OSA associated depression and analyse the significance of the change of blood serum IL-18 in OSA associated depression. Methods :The subjects were divided into healthy group,OSA group, depression group, and OSA associated depression group according to the results of examination of polysomnography and SDS. To collect sex, age, height, weight, education level, smoking history, drinking history ,course of disease, and complications (like hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, esc.) .To assess sleepiness in sleepiness scale case. Serum levels of IL-18,5-HT were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Analyze those with One way ANOVA, LSD-t test,Chi-square test, pearson correlation and multiple linear regression .Results: (1)The morbidity of depression in the patients with obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) was 49.06% . (2) The level of IL-18 were significantly higher in depression group than the normal group(P<0.05); The level of IL-18 were significantly higher in OSA group and OSA associated depression group than the normal group(P<0.05) and the patients of the OSA associated depression group were further heighten than the OSA patients. (3) The level of 5-HT were significantly higher in depression group than normal group(P<0.05); The level of IL-18 were significantly higher in OSA group and OSA associated depression group than normal group and the patients of the OSA associated depression group were further heighten. (4)The complications,BMI and the lowest blood oxygen saturation are included in equation in the multiple stepwise regression and affect the level of blood serum IL-18 of the OSA patients ; BMI,ESS and the complications are included in equation in the multiple stepwise regression and affect the depression scores of the patients of the OSA associated depression . (5) Blood serum IL - 18 was positive correlative with 5-HT level in the patients of the OSA associated depression (r=0.59,P<0.02).Conclusions: (1)The morbidity of depression in the patients with obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) was high . (2)The complications, obesity and the lowest blood oxygen saturation affected impacted the level of blood serum IL-18 of the OSA patients. (3)The complications, ESS and the lowest blood oxygen saturation affected impacted the depression scores of the patients of the OSA associated depression . (4) The blood serum IL-18 may play an important role in the patients of OSA associated depression. |
